# AI Concierge searches for visual design features

When guests describe visual or design details such as 'open floor plan' or 'black headboard,' the AI Concierge may show no results or unrelated properties.

**Why this happens.** The AI Concierge normally searches using location, dates, bedroom count, and amenity categories. Visual details and design features like 'open floor plan,' 'black headboard,' or 'light and airy feel' do not have a specific amenity category, so the standard search cannot filter on them. Previously, even when property photos had been analyzed and those features identified, they were not connected to search results.

**How concierge handpick works.** A feature called **concierge handpick** handles these requests. When a guest describes a visual or design quality that has no category filter, the AI reviews what it knows about each property, including photo analysis, and directly selects the specific listings that match. Those exact properties appear in the results. This works both for purely descriptive requests ('something with a black headboard') and for requests that combine a visual detail with other filters.
