# Starting price shows the base rate

Your property shows a 'Starting at' price that is lower than expected and matches your base rate rather than your calendar rates.

**Why this happens.** Rate data usually publishes a shorter distance into the future than your booking window is long. Nights past that horizon fall back to the property's base rate. If that base rate is stale, it shows up as an unexpectedly low 'Starting at' figure on the last nights of the window. The base rate is also the value the site falls back on any time live rate data is missing for a date.

**What to do.** Correct the base rate in your PMS and spot-check it across your listings.
