# Older plugin version from an emailed ZIP

If you installed a HomeRunner plugin from a ZIP link in an older email, the plugin can show an earlier version than the current release.

**Why this happens.** ZIP links in emails point at the specific build that was current when the email was written. As new releases ship, those links go stale.

**Getting to the latest version.** HomeRunner sites check in with the HomeRunner update server automatically, so the latest version appears as a normal one-click update on the WordPress **Plugins** screen. Running that update brings the plugin forward again.

The always-current download source is the HomeRunner Downloads page at homerunner.io/downloads, which lists the latest build and changelog for every HomeRunner plugin. Installing a newer version over an older one this way is safe, and your settings are preserved.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
