# How payments work with Guesty

When a guest books on your website, the website itself never charges the guest.

**How it works.** At checkout, the guest's card is turned into a secure Stripe token in the guest's browser. That token is passed to Guesty along with the reservation. Guesty then runs the charge through your connected Stripe account, exactly the way it does for your other bookings.

Nothing changes in your Guesty payment settings.
