# Cancellation policy and rental agreement at checkout

You can show a cancellation policy and a rental agreement on your checkout page. Both come from HomeRunner's site-wide settings, not from your PMS listing. HomeRunner does not pull the cancellation policy from Guesty, so these fields are where that content lives.

**Where to find the settings.** In WordPress, go to **HomeRunner > Settings > Reservation** and find the **Checkout** section.

1. Paste your policy text into the **Cancellation Policy** field. It appears under a Cancellation Policy heading on the checkout page.
2. To show calculated refund lines such as "Free cancellation before <date>" or "Partial refund before <date>", fill in the **Full Refund Days and Terms** or **Partial Refund Days and Terms** fields. These dates are calculated from the guest's check-in date. Leave these fields empty if your policy has no refund tiers.
3. Paste the full agreement text into the **Default Rental Agreement** field. It renders in a scrollable box under a Rental Agreement heading. Blank lines create paragraphs.
4. Fill in the **Rental Agreement Acceptance Label** field with the sentence shown next to the checkbox the guest ticks. The agreement box only appears when this label has text, and the label itself becomes the guest's acceptance checkbox.
5. If the rental agreement replaces the separate Rules block, turn on the **Hide Property Rules if Rental Agreement is shown** toggle.
6. Click **Save Settings**, then open a checkout with real dates to confirm both sections appear.

**Property-level text.** These are site-wide defaults. If an individual property has its own rental agreement or cancellation policy text in its property record, that text is used instead. When those property-level fields are empty, the site defaults apply. If you update the site default and one property still shows old text, check that property's individual fields.
