# Preselecting a rate plan in the booking widget

The booking widget preselects whichever rate plan is first in the list. To make a specific plan the default, promote it to first position.

1. Go to **Toolkit > Rate Plan Control**.
2. Set **Mode** to **Promote a rate plan to first position**.
3. In the **Rate Plan Name** field, enter the text that identifies the plan you want to promote (for example 'NON REFUNDABLE').
4. Set **Match Type** to **Contains** so it catches every variant of that plan across buildings.
