# Maximum stay length in Guesty

If you want your website booking engine to limit how many nights a guest can book, the maximum stay needs to be set in the right place in Guesty.

**Where to set it.** Set the maximum nights in the listing's **Terms** section in Guesty, not on individual dates in the calendar. The website date picker reads the listing-level maximum and enforces it. On most connections, the website does not pick up a maximum that is set only on specific calendar dates.

**Timing the change.** The listing-level maximum applies to every date as soon as you save it. Only set it once every remaining sellable date is meant to carry that restriction. If you are still selling shorter stays for the current season, wait until that season ends. Then set the new maximum and minimum together.
