# Cities missing from the By City filter

If a listing appears under the wrong city in the **By City** location filter, or under no city at all, the fix depends on where your site reads city names from. The city list can come from two places in Guesty, and your site is set up to read one of them.

**Address city field.** By default, the filter uses the structured city field on each listing's address in Guesty. To fix a listing that shows under the wrong city or no city, correct the city on the listing's address in Guesty. The change appears after the next sync runs.

**Location tags.** Sometimes the address city cannot or should not change. For example, tax registration may tie the address to one town while guests search for a neighboring one. In that case, location tags act as the city source instead. To set a city this way:

1. In Guesty, add a tag to each listing using your site's location prefix followed by the city name, for example **(l) Kapaa**.
2. Let the next sync run. The city then appears in the filter with the prefix removed.

The location prefix is configured per site. If you are not sure what yours is, confirm it with your HomeRunner contact.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
