# Google Maps shows a BillingNotEnabledMapError

If your map shows a **BillingNotEnabledMapError**, Google Cloud needs a billing account attached to the project before it will serve map tiles. This applies even if your usage falls within the free tier.

**How to fix it.**

1. Sign in to the Google Cloud console with the account that created the API key.
2. Use the project picker at the top to select the project the key belongs to.
3. Attach a billing account to that project at [https://console.cloud.google.com/project/_/billing/enable](https://console.cloud.google.com/project/_/billing/enable).
4. Confirm that both **Maps JavaScript API** and **Places API** are enabled for that project. HomeRunner loads Google Maps with the Places library, so Places matters as well as Maps.
5. Wait a few minutes, then hard refresh the property page.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
