# Fee explanations in the price breakdown

You can add a short explanation to each named fee in the price breakdown on your booking page. The **Inline Price Breakdown** module supports optional per-fee explanations. When a guest views the price breakdown, a small info icon appears next to each named fee line, and tapping it shows the note you wrote. Keep the text short and plain, since guests read it on a phone during checkout.

This feature requires HomeRunner Toolkit version 3.133.1 or newer.

**To set up fee explanations:**

1. In WordPress admin, open the **HomeRunner Toolkit** dashboard and go to the **Inline Price Breakdown** settings.
2. Make sure fees are displayed as separate lines, not grouped. If **Line grouping** is set to "Grouped" (or **Line items** is not set to "Each line separately"), fees are summed into a single row and there is no individual fee to explain.
3. Scroll to **Fee explanations (optional)** and add one rule per line in the form: Fee Name || Explanation text. For example: Cleaning Fee || Professional cleaning of the home before and after your stay. Or: Damage Waiver || Covers accidental damage during your stay, so no security deposit is held on your card.
4. Save the settings, then clear any page cache.

**How fee names are matched.** Matching is case-insensitive and ignores a trailing colon, so you do not have to type the name exactly as it appears. A rule also matches when its name appears anywhere in the fee title, so "Lodging Tax" covers "State Lodging Tax", "City Lodging Tax", and similar lines.
