# GA4 purchase data wrong with Hostfully checkout

In GA4, you may see one or more of these e-commerce tracking issues: cleaning fees, taxes, and damage waivers recorded as purchased products; property names appearing twice with different capitalization; or most bookings showing zero revenue with no transaction ID.

**Why this happens.** All three issues originate from the booking checkout platform, not your main property-listing website. When your booking checkout runs on a separate Hostfully-hosted page (such as reservations.yourdomain.com), Hostfully's system generates and sends all booking confirmation events, including the purchase data. Your main WordPress website has no access to that checkout flow.

**Fixing the purchase event.** The purchase event configuration needs to be updated within your Hostfully account under **Settings > White Labeling**. That section includes a **HEADER HTML** field and a **META HTML** field where you can place custom tracking scripts or a Google Tag Manager container. Your analytics consultant can install the corrected purchase script there. The corrected script places only the property in the items array, combines all fees and taxes into a single tax field, and uses a unique booking reference number as the transaction ID.

**Fixing duplicate property names.** GA4 receives the property name exactly as it is stored in your Hostfully property list. Normalizing the property names in your Hostfully account, so they use consistent Title Case, resolves the duplicate-property problem in your reports.

Once the corrected script is in place on the Hostfully side, all three issues should resolve for new bookings going forward. Existing historical data cannot be corrected retroactively.
