# HomeRunner versus your web host

HomeRunner is the booking system that runs inside your website. It is not your web host.

**What HomeRunner does.** HomeRunner powers the property search bar, the listing results, each property's page (photos, live pricing, and the availability calendar synced from your PMS), and the checkout where guests complete a booking on your own domain. Everything HomeRunner shows stays in sync with your PMS automatically. Without HomeRunner, guests who click **Book Now** are typically redirected away to your PMS provider's generic booking page.

**What hosting is.** Hosting is a separate service. It is the server your website's files live on, and it is managed by whoever runs your website. Questions about hosting plans, server moves, or which hosting provider to use go to your website team or hosting provider.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
