# Does the Meta Purchase event fire automatically?

The Meta Purchase event fires automatically when a booking completes. You do not need to add custom code to your booking confirmation page.

**How it works.** HomeRunner fires the purchase hook when the booking confirmation page loads. The conversion tracking module in the HomeRunner Toolkit listens for this hook and sends a Meta Purchase event with the booking value and currency attached. The **homerunner_track_purchase** hook mentioned in the documentation is this same hook. HomeRunner fires it itself. It exists so that other tools can listen to it, not so that you have to call it.

A deduplication layer is included, so if a guest reloads the confirmation page, the purchase is not counted twice.

**Turning tracking on.**

1. Enable the **Conversion Tracking** module in the HomeRunner Toolkit settings.
2. Enter your Meta Pixel ID in that module's settings.
3. If you also want Google Analytics 4 ecommerce events, enter your GA4 measurement ID in the same place.

GA4 purchase events use the same confirmation page hook, so you can track both platforms at once.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
