# Connecting Your Cloudbeds Account to HomeRunner

HomeRunner turns your own website into a direct booking site. The Cloudbeds connection brings your room types, photos, rates and availability from Cloudbeds onto your website, and sends guests to your Cloudbeds booking engine to finish their booking. You connect with one click from the HomeRunner Dashboard, so there are no API keys to copy.

## Signing Up for HomeRunner

- Create your account at https://homerunner.io/get-started/. There are no fees until your site is live.
- Our team helps with onboarding, the Cloudbeds connection and your launch at no extra cost.
- Hotels, lodges and resorts use our Hospitality pricing. See https://homerunner.io/#pricing for current plans.

## What You'll Need

- A Cloudbeds login that can connect Marketplace apps: the Property Owner, or a user whose role has the Connect Marketplace Apps privilege. If you don't see Apps & Marketplace in Cloudbeds, ask your Property Owner to add that privilege to your role.
- Your Cloudbeds booking engine turned on. Guests complete their booking and payment there.
- The rate plans you want to sell on your website offered on the Website/Booking Engine source in Cloudbeds. Plans that aren't offered there don't appear on your site.

## Connecting Cloudbeds for the First Time

1. Log in to the HomeRunner Dashboard at https://dashboard.homerunner.io.
2. Click **New PMS Connection** in the top bar.
3. Under **Connect your PMS**, choose **Cloudbeds**, then **Connect with Cloudbeds**.
4. On the **Authorize HomeRunner with Cloudbeds** screen, click **Continue with Cloudbeds**.
5. Sign in to Cloudbeds if asked, and approve HomeRunner for your property.
6. Cloudbeds sends you back to HomeRunner, on the **Sync Your Connection** screen. Click **Start Sync**.

The first sync runs in the background and can take a few minutes. When it finishes, each of your room types appears in the dashboard as a listing, ready for your website. To run a sync again later, see [Sync a connection](https://homerunner.io/docs/sync-a-connection/).

## What the Integration Does

### What HomeRunner Reads from Cloudbeds

- **Room types.** Each Cloudbeds room type becomes one listing on your website, with the number of rooms behind it. A "Deluxe Queen" room type with ten rooms is one listing.
- **Property details.** Your address, check-in and check-out times, policies, photos and amenities.
- **Room type content.** Photos, descriptions and amenities for each room type.
- **Rates and availability** for about a year ahead, from the rate plans your booking engine sells.
- **Taxes and fees**, so the prices guests see on your site match Cloudbeds.

### How Bookings Work

1. A guest picks dates on your website and sees live rates and availability.
2. They click **Book Now** on a room type.
3. Your Cloudbeds booking engine opens with their dates, number of guests and room type already selected.
4. They complete the booking and payment on your booking engine.

The reservation is created in Cloudbeds by your booking engine, with your usual payment setup, policies and confirmation emails. HomeRunner never sees or stores card details.

### Sync Timing

HomeRunner refreshes your rooms, rates and availability on a schedule you choose in the connection settings: every hour, every 12 hours or once a day. Automatic syncing is on for new connections. For the full list of what each PMS connection supports, see [Feature support by PMS](https://homerunner.io/docs/feature-support-by-pms/).

## Limitations

- Listings are per room type, so a listing covers all the rooms of that type. Guests book a room type, and Cloudbeds assigns the room.
- A guest books one room per booking from your website.
- Only rate plans offered on the Website/Booking Engine source appear on your site. Private and group plans stay off.
- Guests finish their booking on your Cloudbeds booking engine page, not on your website.
- Reservations from other channels, such as OTAs or your front desk, update availability on your site. HomeRunner doesn't import them as reservations.
- Reviews aren't imported from Cloudbeds.
- A Cloudbeds property can be connected to one HomeRunner account at a time.
- If the connection goes unused for 30 days, for example with syncing turned off, Cloudbeds ends HomeRunner's access and you'll need to connect again.

## Group Accounts

If your Cloudbeds login covers several properties, one connection can bring all of them into HomeRunner. The connection shows under the first property's name with "(+N)" for the others.

## Disconnecting

### From HomeRunner

1. In the HomeRunner Dashboard, open **PMS Connections**.
2. On your Cloudbeds connection, click **Revoke**, or open the actions menu and choose **Disconnect OAuth**.

HomeRunner stops syncing, deletes its stored access to your Cloudbeds account, and tells Cloudbeds the app is turned off. Your listings stay in HomeRunner with their last synced data, so you can reconnect later without rebuilding your site. To remove the listings as well, delete the connection as described in [Removing A Connection](https://homerunner.io/docs/removing-a-connection/). Deleting removes the connection and all of its data, and it can't be undone.

### From Cloudbeds

In Cloudbeds, open the Account menu, choose **Apps & Marketplace**, then **Connected Apps**, and click **Disconnect** next to HomeRunner. Cloudbeds tells HomeRunner right away and syncing stops. HomeRunner keeps your listings, so connecting again from the dashboard picks up where you left off.

## Troubleshooting

- **"This Cloudbeds property is already connected to another HomeRunner account."** A property can belong to one HomeRunner account. Contact us and we'll help move it.
- **"Authorization state expired, please start the connection again."** The approval in Cloudbeds has to finish within 10 minutes. Start again from **New PMS Connection**.
- **"Cloudbeds did not authorize the connection."** The approval was declined or cancelled in Cloudbeds. Start again and approve HomeRunner.
- **"The Cloudbeds property you approved is not the one this connection is linked to."** Approve the property this connection was set up for, or add the other property as a new connection.

## FAQ

### Does HomeRunner see my guests' card details?

No. Guests pay on your Cloudbeds booking engine, and the payment runs through your Cloudbeds payment setup.

### Do I need to change anything in Cloudbeds?

Only if some of the rate plans you want on your website aren't offered on the Website/Booking Engine source. Everything else stays as it is.

### How much does it cost?

See https://homerunner.io/#pricing. HomeRunner charges a flat monthly fee, never a percentage of your bookings.

### Where do I get help?

Contact us at https://homerunner.io/contact/ and our team will help.
