# Using your own property page template

You can replace the generated property page template with a template file in your own theme. No filter is needed.

**How HomeRunner chooses the template.** HomeRunner checks your active theme for a file named **single-property.php** at the theme root, looking in the child theme first and then the parent theme. If no file is found, it falls back to the generated **HomeRunner Property Template** plugin or the built-in template.

**Setting up a theme template.**

1. Copy the plugin's **templates/single-property.php** into your theme root.
2. Edit the file there.
3. The built-in template loads its sections from a **templates/property** folder using relative includes, so copy that folder alongside your file or rewrite those includes to point to the correct paths.

HomeRunner still loads its property page scripts and settings on that URL. For the booking calendar, the **[homerunner-property-calendar id="..."]** shortcode works inside the template.

**Property titles and descriptions.** The property title and description are refreshed from your PMS listing on every sync. To rename an accommodation, rename it in your PMS, or have your template print its own heading.

**Archive page.** The same override pattern applies to the archive page, using **archive-property.php** at the theme root.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
