# Bookings confirmed without a successful payment

You may see bookings confirmed on your site even though the guest's payment did not go through.

**Why this happens.** The booking flow completes the reservation before the Stripe payment intent confirms as successful.

**How to fix it.** The solution is to add a pre-authorization verification layer after checkout details are submitted. With this in place, a reservation is only created once Stripe confirms the payment, so guests do not receive booking confirmations unless payment actually processes.
