# Logging plugin entries cluttering the database

A WordPress logging plugin on your site can build up hundreds of thousands of log entries and clutter your database.

**How to clear it.** Clear the logs directly from the database with a single TRUNCATE operation. TRUNCATE removes all rows instantly, without the server load that row-by-row deletion causes. After clearing, deactivate the logging plugin to prevent the table from refilling. The site then returns to normal with a clean database.

**If you reactivate the plugin.** Logs begin accumulating again unless the underlying source of the log volume is also turned down. In this situation, that source is the HomeRunner plugin's debug-level API logging.
