# Old page version still showing after changes

After a change to your site, your phone may keep showing the old version of a page you opened before the change.

**Why this happens.** Most WordPress hosts keep a copy of each rendered page in a page cache and serve that copy for a while instead of rebuilding the page. A page you opened before the change can keep coming back from that cache until it expires or is purged. A private or incognito window does not help by itself, because the cache lives on the host, not on your phone.

**What you can do.** To see the current version right away, open the page with a small addition to the address. For example, adding ?v=2 to the end of the URL asks for a fresh copy. If you have access to your host's control panel, purging the site cache there makes every page current immediately. Otherwise, the old copies age out on their own, usually within a day.
